  COASTAL CREATIONS

Italian Styling using German technology has allowed Atlas Paving to produce one of the best reconstituted limestone wet cast pavers on the Perth market today. This means you get a high quality, stylish paver at a competitive price.

Coastal Creations are segmented wet cast pavers – Wet cast is the method of manufacture, whereby a wet mix is poured into rubber moulds. The wet mix is made up of cement, aggregate, crushed limestone, colour oxides and a moisture disperser chemical (that helps reduce efflorescence).

Attention to detail

Coastal creations are packed on pallets with four supporting struts, instead of the standard three; this means less chance of the pallet flexing and less chance of causing the paver to crack.

Coastal Creations are mechanically packed onto pallets face to face and bottom to bottom with a thin layer of foam between each face, the top layer of pavers on a pallet is placed bottom up. This prevents the pavers from being scratched or chipped on the face.

Atlas paving’s manufacturing process has alleviated one of the major problems associated with wet cast pavers; this is the variance of the product. For instance if the product was sold as a 40mm paver the actual thickness could vary between 37mm to 43mm (based on a leading manufactures variance tolerance of 3mm). This means that product laid on the ground could have a lip of 6mm between pavers making compaction difficult and the increasing the possibility of chipping. Atlas paving has taken the variance down to 1mm or under (not including the angulations of the face). The paver is most partial to damage before it is laid, therefore correct handling of the product by the installer is imperative.

An Atlas paving first
The Coastal Creations bullnose is the only wet cast bullnose on the market to offer the pattern or design over the lip of the bullnose thus giving the product a more natural look and feel.

When handling or installing Coastal Creations
• Do not place pavers corner down in wheelbarrows as this can chip corners
• Stack pavers flat on the ground face to face, base to base so that each level is 45 degrees from each other. This makes it easier to pick up each paver without possibly scratching the face.
• Tape wheelbarrows tyres with gaffer tape (or the like) to prevent tyre marks on newly laid paving
• After compacting and screeding the bedding sand, use a rake to gently loosen screed surface, this will aid in bedding down the pavers on final compaction
• Place white washed sand on pavers and carpet on compactor plate before final compaction

Benefits
• Cool to walk on
• Aesthetically pleasing
• Variance in product is controlled to be 1 mm or under
• The slightly smaller size 350 x 350 as opposed to 400 x 400, makes the paver a little lighter to lay but still keeps a large face feel on the ground
